For some time now I have wanted to get a new paint job on my car.
But whenever I thought about it, I just couldn't bring myself to do anything about it until I found out about www.jacobedwardshirley.com
Now, I understand that this kind of custom paint job is not for everyone but I love it.
Jake has done a few cars. He and his wife Jenni lived in New Zealand for a year and they say that a lot of people do this over there. I'm trying to get it to catch on here.
Jake did the whole thing with spray paint.
He let me help mask off the car and I got to spray a little primer on my car but he did the rest (Okay, so he did 99.99% of it).
But I provided the car and that's a lot.
I only told a few people and they all tried to talk me out of it. But I'm happy with my decision.
I'm going to need a new name for my car now, any suggestions?
The artist signing his piece of work.
I've never owned an original piece of art before.
So, what do you think? My mom said, "It doesn't look any worse."
You can also check out his wife, Jenni's, card website at www.stitchedcards.com they are super cute. They are a very talented couple.

(It's your favoritest cousin that lives in Pleasant Grove, btw.)
I have you in the bloglines now!
Wow! One of a kind, which is awesome. You'll never loose it in a parking lot.

Liza, this guy has given you your wings! Now go out and use them! I think that this is like a way of expressing yourself for everyone on the road to admire! Love you!

I love it! I will try to think of an original name, you need a great one to go with the new makeover. I love how "Liza" it is. It is fantastic!
I am worried that it will confuse the birds. They wont want to poop on one of their own. This is brilliant.
Love it!
i think it looks BETTER than before, for sure!!!
how much did it cost?
Yay! I want to go for a ride in it now. :D
Thanks for the props on the cards, that's really sweet of you. Glad you like them.

I'm glad you went ahead with it, I think it looks awesome! I can't wait to see it in person. But don't park it by my car, your car's awesomeness will make my car feel bad.
haha! it's so awesome!! I love it! :) It does look better than before, so that's a good thing!
I'm just glad I made it in one of the pictures! Woot! Just kidding :) I love it! And I love you!
Well that's just a load of fun! Birdie Bertha is the first name that comes to my mind :)
THAT IS AMAZING!! WHo is this guy, and will he come to New Orleans?? Seriously I love it!
I am a fan of art on cars. Why don't more people do it? Probably for fear. For us, any way we can make our car easier to find in a parking lot is better. We will definitely try this sometime in the future, when we're less busy.
Thanks for sharing the fun post :)
LOL. "It doesn't look any worse."
I think it's pretty cool.
So to answer a few questions:
Jake gave me a deal because he's a family friend...but it cost roughly the same a pair of jeans.
He's does more than cars. Check out his website. He's done murals on walls, he did a beautiful one of the Golden Gate Bridge on the wall in my brother's room.
He's only got a scooter so I'm not sure how far he can travel. I had to go to his place in SLC.
Oh and my dad says, "The thing is, it actually looks better."
